Editorial and Corrections Policy

What we publish

Komodo Insider publishes travel guides and directory listings for routes, boats, tour operators and places around Komodo. Editorial summaries are based on the evidence available when a page is checked. A listing is not a guarantee that a boat is available, seaworthy, independently inspected or suitable for a particular traveler.

Sources and verification

We prefer official park information for park procedures and published operator material for boat specifications, itineraries and commercial terms. Where another reliable source is used, the relevant page should make the source and its scope clear. An operator declaration remains attributed to the operator unless independently checked. We do not infer a booking guarantee from a schedule, a safety inspection from an equipment list or a fixed package price from a vessel’s generic rate.

Price comparisons identify the purchase unit, currency and route duration when those facts are supported. We show per-person, whole-boat and per-night prices separately. A cited starting price may exclude park fees, transport, tax or other items, so the operator’s written quote governs the actual purchase. Dates on fast-changing claims indicate when we last checked them, not a promise of live availability.

Commercial relationship

The directory directs booking enquiries to the provider. Komodo Insider does not take the trip payment, process a cancellation or decide an operator’s refund. A listing’s presence or placement is not an independent certification of the operator. If commercial arrangements affecting placement are introduced, that relationship should be disclosed on the relevant surface.

How to request a correction

1. Send the page URL and the exact passage through the editorial contact form.
2. Include a current primary source, such as an official operator page, written offer or park notice, and the date it applies.
3. We compare the source to the published claim, update or qualify it if warranted, and keep uncertain facts clearly attributed. Material corrections should carry a fresh review date on the affected page.

Operators may request a listing correction or claim their listing. Evidence of affiliation helps us avoid changing another business’s details based on an unverified request. Editorial corrections do not require buying placement.
