Mantra is a 23-metre traditional Indonesian sailing phinisi designed for small private groups exploring Komodo National Park and selected expedition routes across eastern Indonesia. With only three air-conditioned cabins and a published vessel capacity of eight guests, she offers a more intimate alternative to larger liveaboards while retaining the equipment needed for active days on the water.

The vessel has a 6.5-metre beam and cruises at approximately 8 knots. Her layout centres on a broad foredeck lounge, al fresco dining space and comfortable indoor areas finished in warm timber. Cabins and Onboard Comfort

The open decks provide separate spaces for dining, reading and relaxing between excursions. A 3,500-litre freshwater tank and a watermaker producing approximately 150 litres per hour support longer voyages away from port. Mantra is equipped for dive-oriented expeditions. A PADI Divemaster travels aboard the vessel, and rental dive equipment is available for up to eight guests. For non-diving time, the boat carries two double sea kayaks, one single kayak and a stand-up paddleboard. Snorkelling equipment is included for Komodo itineraries. The combination makes Mantra suitable for mixed groups whose members may want different levels of activity during the same charter.

Komodo and Seasonal Expedition Routes

Mantra's published Komodo season runs from April through September, departing from Labuan Bajo for voyages through Komodo National Park and the wider Nusa Tenggara region. A typical Komodo programme can combine island trekking, snorkelling, wildlife encounters and time on deck, with stops adjusted by the captain according to weather, currents and park conditions.

The vessel also undertakes seasonal charters in Raja Ampat and crossing itineraries through the Banda Islands, South Sulawesi and Maluku. These longer-range routes operate on different calendars, so travellers should confirm the vessel's exact position and schedule before arranging flights.

Meals, Transfers and Practical Information

Published Komodo arrangements include accommodation aboard, meals during the trip, mineral water, coffee and tea, a guide, snorkelling equipment, life vests and transfers from Labuan Bajo airport or hotels located on the mainland near the harbour. Raw photo and video documentation may also be included on the referenced Komodo programme.
