    Who This Suits

    Suits: honeymoons, anniversaries, and anyone for whom being alone on the water is the point rather than a nice extra. A 31-metre hull holding two guests means the entire boat is usable space: two dining areas, a TV lounge, a library, an open-air lounge, and a sleeping area under the stars on the upper deck. The onboard PADI centre means serious diving is possible without joining a dive group.

    Less suited to: anyone travelling with a third person. There is one cabin and no second option, so families, friends and groups are simply out of scope. The per-guest cost is also the highest in this collection by a wide margin, since the whole vessel rate is divided by two rather than by eight or fourteen.

    About This Vessel

    Alexa carries two guests. Not two cabins, not two couples — one cabin, one couple, on a 31-metre hull with a crew of seven. That ratio is the entire proposition, and it makes her the most extreme boat in the Indonesian charter market on the privacy axis.

    She started life as a cargo phinisi running spice and fruit between Sulawesi, Komodo and Raja Ampat, and was rebuilt as a yacht in 2013. Her owner is an interior designer, which shows: aged teak against stainless steel and tinted glass, silk rugs, Balinese antiques and primitive island sculpture, all in pale natural fibres rather than the dark varnish most converted phinisi default to. The single suite sits on the main deck with a king bed, ensuite, double wardrobe and its own balcony aft.

    The rest of the boat is given over to space that would normally hold cabins. The upper deck has open-air dining, sunbeds, an open navigation platform and a sleeping area set up under the stars. The main deck holds the living and dining room, a TV lounge and an open-air lounge. Below are the galley and bar, a second dining area, a lounge and library, and five crew cabins.

    Diving is run through the operator's own licensed PADI centre with an instructor on board, and there is an underwater camera for guests. The crew includes a chef whose specialism is seafood, a cruise director who handles village, waterfall and turtle-beach expeditions, and a spa therapist from a World Luxury Spa Award-winning team. Cruising covers Komodo, Flores, Sumbawa, Alor and Sulawesi.
