    About This Vessel

    Carnaby 02 is a 32-metre phinisi carrying twenty-one guests across ten cabins, and every one of those cabins is named after a town in South Sulawesi. Two of them, Bira and Tana Beru, are the master cabins on the upper deck, and they share their names with the yards where phinisi hulls are still shaped by hand on the beach. Bulukumba, the regency those yards sit in, names a third.

    The layout runs across three levels. Bira and Tana Beru sit on the upper deck with double beds, ocean views and private balconies with bathtubs. Takalar, Bantaeng and Bulukumba occupy the middle grade. Gowa, Maros, Sinjai and Bone are the four superior cabins on the lower deck, each with a double bed and ensuite bathroom. Wajo, also lower deck, is the family cabin and the only one taking three guests. All ten have air conditioning and hot and cold showers.

    Deck space is unusually well equipped for a 32-metre hull: a jacuzzi on deck, a sundeck with sunbeds and beanbags, an outdoor dining area, an indoor lounge with TV and karaoke, and BBQ equipment. Starlink covers the boat, and water toys include a paddleboard and a transparent canoe.

    Mechanically she runs a Mitsubishi 8DC11 at six to ten knots with a four-cylinder 120 PS generator, carrying four tons of fuel against twelve tons of fresh water. She is one of the few boats in this directory listing CCTV monitoring among her safety equipment, alongside life rafts, buoys, jackets, extinguishers, GPS, and marine and HF radios with distress signal. A speedboat handles transfers and island excursions.

      Shared 3D2N trips start at approximately $365 per person in the Superior Cabin. This is the fare for the full three-day, two-night trip, based on a minimum booking of 2 people in that cabin category. Extra-bed prices are separate.

    • Official public guidance does not state one universal refund or rescheduling rule for every reservation. Confirm the current SiOra terms in writing before the ticket is issued, including treatment of weather disruption.

    Statutory fees under Peraturan Pemerintah No. 36 Tahun 2024, in force since 30 October 2024.     Why are the cabins named after towns?

    They are all places in South Sulawesi, the home of phinisi shipbuilding. Bira and Tana Beru are the two beaches where the hulls are still shaped by hand without formal drawings, and Bulukumba is the regency that contains them. The rest, Takalar, Bantaeng, Gowa, Maros, Sinjai, Bone and Wajo, are neighbouring regencies.

    Which cabins have a balcony?

    Two: Bira and Tana Beru, the master cabins on the upper deck. Both have a private balcony with a bathtub and an ocean view. No other cabin on board has outdoor space of its own.

    Can three people share a cabin?

    Only in Wajo, the family cabin on the lower deck. Every other cabin takes a maximum of two. That single triple is what takes the boat from twenty berths to a stated capacity of twenty-one.

    How does the price change with trip length?

    For one to twelve guests, the published private rate starts at about $4,915 for 2D1N and reaches about $10,170 for 6D5N. Those are whole-trip, whole-vessel totals; the package price changes with duration.

    How much does a bigger group cost?
